I am officially employed!

Yesterday at noon one of the recruitment agents I’ve been speaking with called me she had a fab job opportunity etc and they wanted to meet with me at 4pm. So I went along to the interview and as of four pm the NEXT day I am officially employed, and I start on Monday! They are desperate to get someone in NOW so the job starts as a temp, but the permanent position is there, basically to be filled by the temp (me) assuming it suits both parties.

I am a Marketing Assistant at a company that produces a book and website detailing the value of cars – it’s like the car-buyers bible, a really big company actually, apparently everyone in the US knows all about it. They are located in Irvine (near the Spectrum, for those of you who know Cali) and the role will be partially administrative, partially project-related, very jack-of-all-trades, and a good chance to learn about marketing, PR and advertising, because while technically I’m supporting the Executive VP, I’m also supporting the six VPs under him, so the job should have a lot of variety. They wanted someone who was good with computers and also photo software. Great pay, better than I expected to get for my first job here, and if the tea and coffee facilities are anything to go by, they seem like good people and good to work for. So here’s hoping for a great time!
