Stealing the crown
I do believe I have officially stolen the crown as most awesome television watcher at 1000 South Coast Drive. I’m not sure exactly when I started, but maybe two months ago, I started watching Battlestar Galactica. The first three seasons were on DVD (I was playing catch-up.) Well, as of this weekend, I have officially caught up with the entire show, much to Matthew’s shock!
Anyway, so this weekend was a long weekend. And, by virtue of doing nothing all weekend (well, except watching a lot of Battlestar!) it sure did feel long - which is a good thing. That said, it’s now depressing to think that the next long weekend isn’t till September 1st … *sigh*
So this weekend … taught BodyCombat on Saturday. Went to see Indiana Jones for Jon’s birthday on Saturday night. Don’t even get me started …
Actually I’m already started.
Things I learned from Indiana Jones:
- UFC fighters train for hours upon hours a day to withstand a vicious beating and yet an old man can do it without blinking cos he’s Indiana Jones.
- A fridge will protect you from a nuclear bomb.
- Humans have not, to contrary believe, lost the ability to swing from vines like monkeys.
- Everything comes back to aliens.
- People can survive three drops down Niagra-falls style waterfalls.
- If you feel that your movie’s jungle chase scene lacks a little something, throw in a sword fight. The audience will totally buy it, so long as you make sure to throw in a line about the character having fenced before. Cos you know, high school fencing team and fencing on a moving car through the jungle - totally the same thing.
Sad to think that 27 Dresses was actually a more believable movie!
Anyway I’m done Indiana Jones bashing, lol!
Moving along. Also went to Kabuki for dinner, who shouldn’t be allowed to serve customers. Oh wait, they don’t.
Sunday … *thinking* Didn’t do much of anything. Had some champers and went to Finbars. That’s about it …
Monday was RPM and errands day, then lots of Battlestar.
Matthew has gone to Vegas for a few days (he’ll be back Thursday or Friday) so it’s an all-girl household for now.
Tonight, co-teaching RPM with Rachael. Tomorrow, we have Combat. Thursday, there’s talk of a free fashion show at South Coast Plaza followed by dinner (cos Thursdays are the 1000 South Coast drive designated “family night”), and finally when the weekend gets here, heading to Roy’s Hawaiian Restaurant for dinner on Saturday with a few friends.
Alright, don’t tell me I don’t update people! I just wrote a damn novel …
