Poll: Do you moisturise the back of your knees?

umm… i’m going to have to go with a resounding no. what’s with the random question?
Well, I noticed that the skin behind ones knee and at the top of one’s calf is very, very soft! And I’m thinking, I certainly don’t intentionally moisturise there. Half the time, I tend to miss that spot because I’m lazy. And boys don’t moisturise their legs much. So … I’m wondering if that area of the body is just inherently soft? And if so, what is the evolutionary advantage of that?!
Do I specifically aim moisturiser there? No. But I’m thinking I get it when I do the rest of my leg though.
So, Michele gave me a log on to put posts up on this thing. No idea how to do that or what I will post but hey, at least she trusts me! Oh and on the upside it appears one of my new neighbours is stoopid and has a non-secured wireless connection.
I reckon it’s the sweat that keeps it soft… ewwwwwww….
But I do moisturisethere. I’m a bit nuts - I make sure I get the odd places, like in between my toes, nehind my knees, all around my ankles etc.
Well that’s dedication!
Happy Birthday Mr Sparrow!
no michele, that’s single girl behaviour… you remember that, don’t you? Got to impress the fellas. :p
Boy, no wonder I used to have no free time, with all that moisturising! hahahaha.
So Nat, when are you going to put up your first post?!
And i think i’m about to go to the dark side, heading to my first UK pump class tomorrow to see if they’re any good over here… hehe
Anyone got any fun weekend plans?
You ARE?! OH MY GOD I AM SO PROUD! Is it real Pump, or a fake version?
Um, weekend plans … Matthew and I are cleaning up the balcony to create a lovely little balcony to sit on with little chairs, etc. So that will actually be kind of fun!!!!! (If you’re lame, but hey the end result will be worth it!)
Nat, Dave and I launch BodyCombat tomorrow, that will also be fun.
That’s all the plans …
I am indeed, and it is a Les Mills official class too. If the instructor is any good, my plan is to make the two 7am classes next week too…
My weekend plans are about as lame as they get, they involve me attempting to study for these exams!
Oh another BodyPumper, YAY YAY YAY YAY YAY!!!!!!!!!
That totally overrides exam studying plans - A weekend of BodyPump, that’s an AWESOME weekend! Haha Yes I’m lame.
You’ve turned towards the light Mr Sparrow! Let us know how it goes. The first Natty Post will appear soon. Until then though - Happy Friday everyone, it’s time to get your drink on!
And now i’m in pain… jeez, i’d forgotten the stamina required for that class! Am a bit unsure on the instructor too. Glad i’ve been to one of your classes shellie or i wouldn’t have had much of a clue what i was supposed to be doing! It’s also a bit strange when your instructor shows up and he’s got quite a gut on him, doesn’t give you the most confidence, plus not as nice to look at as my last instructor. ![]()
Haha glad to hear you’re in pain - that means it worked!
Yeah I know what you mean about instructors. I’m not like “you need to be a skinny twig” but I remember taking a BP class right after my training, and not only did the instructor screw up all the choreography (literally, it seemed like he was making it up) he was also really fat. Not like just big and stocky, but fat. To then couple with that, he lifted girly weights. Like half of my bicep weights. Not so motivating!
Did he actually guide you as to weight selection, what tracks were coming next, etc? Did his form and timing at least seem okay …? Did he precue?
Oh I forget - not everyone dissects instructors like we do!
So Nat and I launched BodyCombat 36 today, and it was awesome! I’ll post pics - the theme was James Bond (because one of the songs was the theme from James Bond) and we wore long black pants, black shoes, white shirts with no sleeves and black ties, and served “martinis - shaken, not stirred” (aka clear gatorade!) in martini glasses after class.
The surprising twist to the morning was that we were supposed to launch with another instructor, who twisted his ankle last night! So, not only did we have to cover the tracks he was supposed to teach, but he was supposed to be teaching Pump after Combat so we jumped in for that one too. HAHA! Nice to know we can think on our toes
So we also launched the new BodyPump, which is fantastic.
Mark, what release are they doing in the UK? What are some of the songs?
Take enough classes and you’ll soon miss the pain. That’s how it works.
Or you’ll just strap up your injuries and carry on as if nothing happened.
Soju is fun.
I was going to go back on Monday, but just realised that Physio conflicts with it, i’ll head back wed morning instead.
And shellie, the breakdown for you. He didn’t give any suggestion as to warm up weights, as for suggestions between tracks it was a case of “you can put it down a bit for this one” etc. He told me i didn’t need the raise bits (to lie on) for the chest work (but i used them anyway, muwahaha)… his actual timing was ok, but he spent half the time just talking without doing the actual work-out, so it meant you couldn’t watch him for timing, just had to listen to his queues. He did let you know what was coming next. As for what release we did, i don’t remember much of the tracks (kanye west - stronger was one of the tracks). i miss my shellie instructor!
Well, you gots to get your butt back to California then!
les mills is the devil in disguise.
it is taking over the world.
normal people are becoming evil….
save the world from the evild of les mills!!!!!!!!!
Come, join our cult, my pretty ![]()
call me crippled, call me whatever… but dammit, just when my elbow tendon gets better, i get tendonitis in my forearm again! There’s just someone out there who doesn’t want me to gym much…
ow! seriously?! when does it hurt? anything in particular? I heard a cool option of holding plates (in bp) for bicep work and have the plates face each other (so your palms are also facing each other) - apparently takes all the pressure off the forearms … at all an option?
yep, seriously… stupid arm! It doesn’t help that i’m writing about +30 pages a day for exam revision too. The plates thing would work i think, hammer curls essentially, which i can do. I just can’t relaly do much in the way that requires strong forearm/wrist so barbell curls etc. I’m going to just take it easy for a couple days and ice it to let the inflamation go down, then get back to at it until it flares up again! :-p
You thought about changing the dynamics of your seating arrangement when you study? The angle of your writing surface can change the distribution of force when writing. Know any good Occupational Therapists?
I don’t, but maybe you can recommend someone?
Well, ergonomics really ain’t my thing but yes I can recommend a few people in the Manchester area.
Heh, i don’t get a choice with my seating arrangement or dynamics. The lecture rooms here are set up to mimic the seating of the actual exams using the same chairs/desks of them so that we’re ‘properly prepared’.
The Aussie Dollar just hit 98.00.
Nice.
Wow …
1 US gallon of gas over here costs $8.90… now that’s something.
I found a delightful pair of Chloe shoes for $200! Delovely!!
new topic please I have nothing to add and I am not creative enough to start one.
unless of course someone can help me with a work dilemma - how do I get a nudist couple to feel more comfortable in the therapeutic setting when I demand that they wear clothes to the session???? (true story)
Are you allowed to be a nudist in prison?!
Ha! Not creative to come up with a new topic.
haha, its in private practice, not the prison. Definitely NOT allowed in the prison.
So what exactly is the basis of nudism? It’s not something where they just choose to not where clothes, but are cool with wearing clothes if someone wants or needs them to?
Well, they are naturalists, so they believe that it is important to try and be as natural as possible (yes that includes products they use). for them, they are more comfortable naked, which is the way they were born… ARGH!
See, that argument, I just don’t get. They were also born covered in amniotic fluid and without a belly button, but I’m sure they don’t keep their umbilical cord attached with a placenta bag over the shoulder!
